It started as as a product demonstration by a door to door salesman and ended with a home burglary, says a McAllen homeowner.
When I left for dinner, he was sitting on the curb waiting for his ride. When I got back, my house had been robbed. He basically cased my house so he could rob me when I left.
Fortunately, an alert neighbor witnessed the alleged perpetrator exiting the home, and was able to identify him as the very same salesman.
He had tattoos on both of his arms. It was easy to tell it was the same guy.
The suspect has been identified as Steven Guerra, an employee of AquaFuzion in Corpus Christi, TX. He is described as a heavyset hispanic male in his early twenties, and is believed to be armed.
Police are also looking for his supervisor, an African American man in his thirties, who is being called a person of interest. The investigation is ongoing, but police officials are confident that the case will be resolved quickly.
Along with the statement from the witness, we were able to recover fingerprints from the crime scene which were matched against drinking glasses that were handled by the suspect.
Police are cautioning the public to be especially wary of door-to-door sales people, and to take measures against becoming a victim.
